Rather than cut off the corners and the extra liner I had on one side, we dug 'veggie bogs'. There are 3 such bogs, all fed by a single submersable pump.
They are full of greenery during the warmer weather and without a doubt, they contribute to the health of the pond.
They also provide a place where the plants are safe from hungry Koi.
